I have prepared these from my internal audit and management accounting experiences. The audience were local project managers and accounting staff in developing countries who had reasonable knowledge and experience in using the IT and simple accounting applications like Sage and spreadsheets.
Locations: Middle East, East Africa, North Africa and India.
I have discussed more about personal management, styles and designs of management and reflections on religious studies. It is more about health, fitness and art of living towards achieving self awareness and success in career of a lifetime.
This subject was included in my original book titled " Career Presentation" which was self-published last year. I have changed my publication and have now submitted to new publishers with change in the format, layout and title to obtain new tile and copyright. The chapter of Self- Management has been removed and now I have undertaken to write a whole book on the subject.
The brief Introduction of the book:
Whilst I am not traditionally a religious person I have taken this challenge as a naturalist Muslim. I believe that my religion is nature and my occupation is management. My understanding about the word “Muslim” is that it means living in peace and harmony with nature. Muslims also include all the good and peaceful animals, birds, fish, insects, trees, gardens, rivers, streams, hills and snow on the earth and also the clouds, moon and the sun above the earth. Man as a natural manager is a caliph on earth and that means manager on earth. His job is to work on the earth, manage and distribute its resources and enjoy the pleasures of paradise on earth, live comfortably in a shade and maintain good health, cleanliness and beauty by worshiping God almighty.
On the path of research, I am making continued efforts to sort out the complexities and confusion in order to draw a clear picture of a natural human life and its biological activities under the laws of nature. This makes a case of deeply studying the hadiths as they are wisdom of nature and that wisdom means Islam, the truth and nature.
My academic and professional management studies have taught me that management is an art and craft. This fact and further studies of hadiths have convinced me to approach the subject of living and loving as management study and to think about the art of love, as frequently taught in hadiths, as being lessons in self-management.
Success in managing and developing one’s career and skills for life very much depends on his successful self-management.
This book takes a very broad view, more than horizontal view of life and career, and so it searches for higher art contained in the hadiths of the prophet of God.
The book will also include discussions on participation and managing personal communications. I had delivered a lecture on this subject at colleges and training centers to promote volunteering and civil rights campaigns during my holiday travels to Africa and India.
My talk was based on what I had experienced since 1970s, in real life... in office politics, community gossips, friends rumors, traditional old fashioned romance as we read in Jane Austen novels. It was real life socializing with it's challenges, suspense, thrills, heart-beat which we lack today due to world wide web.
In our modern world, participating in a forum where one can both learn and help others will benefit everyone. It may be face-book, a blog, or anything social on the web. Managing communications skillfully will be important to achieve desired results.

Lecture on freelancing at Loughborough University, on behalf of Careers and Employability Center.
Title: Investigating Careers in Freelancing
Date: 18/11/2013, from 18.00pm to 20.00pm
The session will include: Considering becoming self-employed freelancer or contractor. Introduction from experienced freelancers about how to set up in freelancing, creating own brand and securing new clients.
I have previously discussed about freelancing on Linkedin professional networking forum. Briefly, my suggestions are:
"I think that employment regulations and practices have not moved along with the changing world. It's still too old fashioned, traditional or maybe outdated but workers need money and are putting up with complex regulations and administration. Why cannot employment be freelance business proposition ? Freelancing is a full time employment. It is a commercial business proposition and that is very good because responsibilities are clear and prices are agreed for the service. A freelancer cannot be made into a slave and he can bargain according to orders placed by the employer. That's business."
Copy of my power-point slides for the lecture are shown below.
Preparing and presenting a business plan.
I have prepared this training video about presentation of a complete business plan at board meeting. It is based on my experience of a real organisation that is currently operative and expanding in the UK.
The guidelines shown here can be useful for preparing a presentation of a business plan for the purpose of marketing a project or business idea and for fundraising, inviting shares, partners and those who are interested in similar businesses. It includes combination of business plan and project plan and can be adapted to suit wide variety of NGO, charities and business organisations.
From September, 2013 I have undertaken training in using latest Microsoft Office suite and systems of working online.
Outlines of my courses and my guidelines for managing the training projects and using the project planning for planning the studies and skills training are given below:
MS Words training modules covered:
(1) Using The Application
(2) Document Creation
(5) Mail Merge
(6) Prepare Outputs
The training for MS Words is to teach best practice of making and writing all documents - letters, books, literature, articles, reports, etc. They should be neat looking and professionally presentable.
MS Excel Spreadsheets modules covered:
(1) Using the Application
(3) Managing Worksheets
(4) Formulas and Functions
(7) Prepare Outputs
I am showing guidelines for easily managing a small Project of training to use Microsoft Excel Spreadsheets software and using the project plan for organising and planning the studies and training.
Spreadsheets form part of Decision Support Systems and Project Management. They are nowadays essential skills in all workplaces.
MS Spreadsheets application can be used for wide variety of purposes at workplace. Some staff in banks and financial services industries does all their daily work on spreadsheets program as it can be used both for producing textual reports and correspondences as well as financial analysis and summaries with graphs. In many commercial and industrial organisations it is also used as a database of stock, costs, suppliers and customers’ accounts, marketing data, employee data and business administration.
There are so may uses in all other economics and scientific fields. The training outlined here only gives simple and technical skills of using the spreadsheets software but as one studies further one will view the interesting features that can be applied to wide variety of jobs. It becomes much more interesting and stimulating when the final production of worksheets are presented with best practice standards as recommended by the specialists and software developers.
For daily practical accounting work spreadsheets are useful for :
1. Importing bank statements and writing up an analysis cash book which becomes source
data for entry into accounting software
2. Preparing bank reconciliation statements
3. Writing up analysis petty cash book and balancing cash account
4. Preparing lists of sales and purchases invoices

Training in starting to use MS Words software
I have written this script for training in career development following my MBA in 2006 and research during my course work of Emotional Intelligence in the module of Contemporary Management Issues. The field of research in emotional intelligence competencies that has interested me is in managing stress to become a leader and star performer.
I have been successful in developing the stress management framework in health and safety management at workplace and in business organisation.
The Health and Safety Executives in the UK have been very much concerned about stress at workplace which is seriously affecting productivity, organisational performance and competitiveness in the global markets.
My audio play is written from my home movie clip which I have created on my PC using Microsoft Moviemaker provided freely with Windows XP. I have found MS Moviemaker as very beneficial little program that enables creating an entire home movie project using handy small DVD Camcorder.
The facility enables a whole storyboard and screen script for a movie clip and the completed movie can be saved in high quality for presentation of a show, lecture or training program.
Freelancing as online English Language Tutor for Corporate organisations
I have created this test video clip for the job of helping with tuition and training in English Language for speakers of other languages - ESOL . Learning the business English vocabulary and speaking well at workplace and with team work will greatly help with success in career and studies in the UK.
Also, people will gain success in social life with speaking the language because it is used worldwide.
Knowing business vocabulary is important in order to understand the financial and accounting terms and to succeed in business negotiations effectively.
